This handy extension is used when you're checking the pressure or refilling the pressure on your shock and the Schrader valve stem is sunk down in the reservoir's canister. On modern shocks it is common for the manufacturer to locate the Schrader valve down inside the reservoir canister to prevent it from getting sheared off when you're driving.
