A suspension limiting strap is usually required when your rear suspension is over extending causing your CV joints to bind and break. A limiting strap is also required on the front of a vehicle where suspension down travel is so great that your tie rods are hitting your frame. In either case, the whole purpose of this strap is to prevent damage to something that is a lot more expensive than a limiting strap such as your shocks, your axles, or your tie rods. And though tie rods aren't expensive, smacking a tie rod on your frame could ruin a perfectly good weekend trip.
Please keep in mind that all suspension limiting straps will stretch up to 1 inch depending upon the weight of the suspension being held up. We recommend using an adjustable clevis when mounting your limiting straps. As the strap stretches you can tighten it back up with a clevis.
